Affiliation with TAI and ITAym

TAIym (Tunnelling Association of India – Young Members) operates under the aegis of the Tunnelling Association of India (TAI) and is recognized as the official Indian chapter of the ITA Young Members (ITAym) group, the global youth network of the International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (ITA).

Tunnelling Association of India (TAI)

Established in 1991, TAI is the national body representing India in matters related to tunnelling and underground space development. It promotes knowledge-sharing, policy advocacy, and professional excellence in collaboration with industry, academia, and government agencies.


TAI is the Indian representative body affiliated with the International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (ITA).


TAIym functions as the youth wing of TAI, with a mandate to:


  • Engage young professionals in TAI’s initiatives and conferences.
  • Provide a platform for youth-led contributions in the field.
  • Act as a bridge between senior professionals and emerging talent.
  • ITA Young Members (ITAym)

    ITAym is the official global network of young professionals (typically under 35) under the International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (ITA). It promotes international collaboration, professional development, and knowledge exchange among youth across more than 25 member countries.


    As part of the ITAym global network, TAIym members gain access to:


  • International working groups and joint research initiatives.
  • Global events such as the World Tunnel Congress (WTC).
  • Opportunities to present work, write articles, and connect with global experts.
