Dear Members, Friends, and Future Tunnelling Leaders,

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to TAIym – the Young Members wing of the Tunnelling Association of India. This platform was created with a singular belief — that the future of underground infrastructure lies in the hands of curious, capable, and committed young professionals like you.

India is witnessing an unprecedented expansion in underground construction — from urban metros and mountain tunnels to utility corridors and smart cities. Yet, tunnelling is more than just concrete and excavation. It is an art that blends engineering, geology, planning, innovation, and collaboration. Through TAIym, we aspire to prepare the next generation of professionals who will not just participate in this growth — but shape it.

As Chairperson, my vision is to ensure that TAIym remains a vibrant and inclusive space for:

• Learning beyond textbooks
• Connecting with peers and mentors across the country and globe
• Contributing meaningfully to projects, publications, and innovations

We are proud to be part of the ITAym global network, and equally proud of the unique energy that Indian youth bring to this field. I encourage each of you — whether a student, a young engineer, a researcher, or an entrepreneur — to engage actively, ask bold questions, and make your voice count.
